A senior militant commander as well as intelligence officials has recently revealed that talks were held between the government intermediaries as well as the Pakistani Taliban representatives. The talks were based on the issue of getting the process of peaceful
negotiation through discussion started between the government as well as the Pakistani Taliban.
The news brings hope to the people in the areas that have been affected by the clashes between the security personnel as well as the Pakistani Taliban. This is because innocent civilians have been suffering for a long time as collateral damage as a result
of the clashed between the two parties. There have been more than thousands of people that have lost their lives in the years gone by as they come under the line of fire of either the Pakistani Taliban or the security forces.
In case a peace deal is made between the Pakistani Taliban and the authorities, the end of violence and the sense of insecurity prevalent in the region will benefit the people of those areas both mentally as well as economically.
However, there are several grey areas still looming ahead before a peace deal could be made between the Pakistani Taliban as well as the government authorities. One formidable aspect is the fact that even though a peace deal is struck between the two parties
there is no guarantee of how long it would last. Other than that, there are several groups involved within the Pakistani Taliban themselves and it might take a long time before all of them reach a mutual agreement. Other than that, it would be a hard matter
to convince some of the groups to work together for a peaceful resolution of all affairs between the Pakistani Taliban as well as the government authorities.
There have been cases where the government of Pakistan made deals with the Pakistani Taliban in the past but not one of them was able to stand the test of time and failed in the end. The agreements made with the Pakistani Taliban have never been popular
as it was generally felt that they only gave time to them to regroup.
