Bahria University squad for LUMS fixture and Muhammad Ali Jinnah University leaked!
Newspakistan.pk has exclusive details of which players have been selected for the upcoming tournaments in Muhammad Ali Jinnah University and the fixture at Lahore University of Management Sciences.
The leak came via an anonymous source, who claims to have been present at the meeting when the team was being finalized.
According to the source both the Captain of the Bahria University team, Faizan Sameer Malik and the vice captain, Musa Khan Afridi, were present and going back and forth assessing which of the 24 hopefuls would make the final squads.
The tournament in Muhammad Ali Jinnah University was the more pressing matter and was apparently given more attention during the meeting. The tournament is said to have a number of universities from the region participating and is set to follow a knock-out
format.
Each side can send in a list of up to 16 people and it seems Bahria University will be making full use of the bench as it is set to submit a full squad.
The source claims that Ali Swatti will retain his place in the side, after missing out on a number of recent friendly matches, though whether or not he will play as a striker or retain his place in goal is still up in the air.
The fact that Nahyan Shahzada is named on the squad sheet should come as a relief for the side that has always had trouble at the back. Mohsin Cheema is also expected to rejoin the squad after a lengthy absence and Ahmed Saeed Butt will be facing a race
to get back to fitness in time.
The rest of the team is the same that took part in the friendly match that took place this previous Sunday at Pasban.
The side that is set to travel to LUMS is the same, except Ali Swatti has been dropped from the team as only 14 spots are available on the team. Hammad Salik is a doubt as the captain is trying to convince both the Bahria management and LUMS to try and allow
a 15th player to come along.
