Rocky Musical slated for next year in Germany

It takes years to figure it out. Sylvester Stallone finally announced one of his burning desires: to see his famous movie Rocky in a musical affair. He now firmly addressed himself as the producer of the project that will bring the character that launched
him to stardom in the world of music.

In a joint announcement with the Klitschko brothers, Vitali and Wladimir (heavy weight boxing champions), who will also co-produce the venture, Stallone will finally set the record straight by taking his highest grossing movie to hit the German stages.

Stallone says he always had in mind to launch a musical version of the script he signed in 1976, for which he also won three Oscars. For the mercenary Sly and the story of legendary boxer who rises from nowhere to the top based on courage and sweat has much
projection as musical drama.

"I always thought of as a musical Rocky, but I thought I could not do it," said the actor during the presentation of the assembly in Hamburg, Germany. "After all, Rocky is a story of love and he never could have reached the end of the last assault without
Adrian (the protagonist’s girlfriend in the film starred Talia Shire)."

He added: "Being able to see how this story comes alive in a musical stage and makes me feel proud. And make you feel proud to Rocky," Stallone said, that through the company Stage Entertainment produces the show with heavyweight champions Vitali and Wladimir
Klitschko.

The musical, which will be released first in Germany, will include many of the central themes of the film franchise, including the famous Eye of the Tiger and Gonna Fly now. The script of the play will be written by Thomas Meehan, while the music
will be come from famous lyricist, Lynn Ahrens and composed by Stephen Flaherty.

Stallone also looks forward to promoting Rocky musical around the world, if it garnishes the expected response. For now, the play will be premiered on November next year.
