The path to heaven is a difficult one for Muslim, as they are expected to hold their own in the face of various challenges, sorrows, tragedies and injustice. Irrespective of the intensity of blow that is dealt to him, a Muslim is expected to hold on to his
faith firmly and not waver from the path promises to lead him to eternal bliss.
However, there are certain tragedies in a person’s life that throws him into a dark abyss where there is no ray of hope in sight. He begins to sink into his sorrow, losing himself in the feeling that God has forsaken him and his fate holds nothing but thorns
which prick him with an evident intention of bleeding him to death.
How is a person expected to stand his ground in such situations? Every time someone finds himself in such a situation and asks a Muslim scholar for some guidance and the Islamic way of dealing with the demanding situation, he is advised to completely submit
to the will of God. The submission involves saying prayers on time five times a day, recitation of Quran, leading a virtuous life while putting in an effort to follow in the foot-steps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
While one fails to find a single flaw in the advice given by the scholar, one finds it extremely difficult to follow it thoroughly, especially when enveloped in melancholy and searching for someone to put the blame on. In most cases, the Muslim starts blaming
his fate and eventually begins to question God for putting him in such a challenging trail. He almost begins to feel that the test was designed in such a way so as to ensure his failure.
Suddenly feeling cheated, the Muslim begins to drift away from God, who happens to be the very back-bone of his existence. He finds it difficult to turn towards God for help as the prayers in the past had gone unanswered.
Sensing the presence of Satan and hearing his treacherous whispers in the ears, the person begins to desperately search for something to cling to in order to keep himself from succumbing to the hatred that he is being filled with by his new ‘friend’.
When all hope disappears and the light completely fades away, God saves you from treading on a path that can only lead to the pits of hell. You lost yourself to your depression and allowed your faith in God to vanish, thinking that He had forsaken you. However,
you realise that it was you and you alone who had forsaken God, letting a tragedy completely fog your mind and making you vulnerable to the cursed creature, Satan, who is hell bent on making you go astray.
