Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra to host Zee Cine awards 2012

After the success of Ra-One, Shahrukh Khan’s much awaited sequel Don 2 will be released on December 23, 2011.

It is reported that a month after the Don 2 releases, Shahrukh and Priyanka Chopra will co-host the Zee Cine Awards 2012, at The Venetian in Macau. This would be for the first time that both the stars will be hosting a show together.

“Priyanka has never hosted an awards evening before, so a spontaneous person like SRK might just be the best to co-host with her. Last year, PC was loved by everyone for her ‘Chulbul Pandey’ performance and Shah Rukh for his witty
one-liners and mimicry, which had audiences in splits,” told an inside source.

Earlier King Khan had been hosting the galas with other Bollywood stars –Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. The Zee Cine 2011 award ceremony was co-hosted by film star Akshay Kumar and film-maker Sajid Khan.

“Zee Cine Awards has come up with many firsts. Last year, we got together Akshay Kumar and Sajid Khan. I’m sure Shah Rukh and Priyanka will be fantastic,” confirmed Mohan Gopinath, the business head of Zee Cinema.

Earlier there have been rumors that award show will be hosted by Saif and his actor-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. Other than this, Ranveer Singh and Anuskhka Sharma were also reported to host the event.

In the last year’s Zee Cinema Awards, in Singhapore, Priyanka had taken on six different avatars while revealing the nominations for the Best Film Awards. On the other hand, SKR made the event interesting by telling Hrithik Roshan
the right way loving one’s wife by taking the Shy Sussane on the stage. He also forced Harithik to publicly declare his affection for his wife.

“ Shah Rukh has been part of all our 13 ceremonies so far,” said  Punit Geonka, MD and CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.

Zee Cine awards will be held in Macau and will be aired on Zee TV on February 5. Let’s see what comes for the views in the upcoming awards ceremony.
