Lahore, November 23: The president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Mehmoodur Rasheed criticises on the act taken by Excise and Taxation Department, in which party’s Lahore secretariat at Jail road has been sealed on Tuesday, for not paying the property
tax.
The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab sealed PTI’s Lahore Secretariat over the issue that property tax of the building was not paid. It was also revealed by reliable resources that notices have been sent for many times to the office for the payment
of tax which was approximately 350,000 but failed to get the appropriate response. Therefore, the authorities sealed the property over this issue.
While addressing to a press conference to criticise this cheap act, PTI president, Rasheed said that behind this act, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) wants to employ these mean and cheap acts to affect the growing popularity and force of PTI. He also
said that the date for the payment of property tax was November 23 and sealing the property before the payment date of tax is illegal.
He also revealed that if this act of the responsible people is ignored by the government then PTI will protest in the form of rally on Friday, November 25.
Rasheed further added that the commercial tax has been imposed on this domestic property, which was donated to PTI by a supporter. This is completely illegal act and PTI wants government to take action against responsible people behind this cheap act. He
also said that PML-N should confront PTI on political upfront rather than employing these mean tactics.
PTI president also mentioned that after the successful completion of PTI’s October 30 procession in Lahore, PML-N has realised the growing power of PTI has nothing to stop it but using the cheap strategies. However, he asserted that PML-N cannot stop the
growing popularity of PTI as it is the voice of general masses.
Rasheed also said that immediate action should be taken against the responsible people behind this act, which is completely illegal and in a democratic state, which always follows law, such act cannot be tolerated at all in any circumstances whatsoever.
