Parental advice and attention needed

It has not been once that I have been out with friends and we have seen teenagers, obviously being younger than us, ordering insanity and then paying like a retard for it, yes I am talking about sheesha. If I am not miserably wrong then these groups and
crowds cannot be elder than A Levels’ students and many at times seem to be even younger than that. Eating well at good places does not cost less but then it makes sense and you at least know that you have not thrown away your money.

Not that it will be complete injustice to compare my A and O Levels’ days with this generation as everything and here I mean everything has changed drastically. I do like the change, more advance, more aware, more technology savvy, more confident and sure
but what I do not like is if that gets to their head and they think that they can get away with either being rude or even at times misbehave with their parents.

I have been earning myself for nearly four years now but I still ask my mother whenever I need to spend anything anywhere (not that I keep saving upon my own money) and I am also repeatedly reminded of keeping a check that how much is spend where regardless
of whatever amount I am carrying and I am not ashamed of it ever rather it is a cherished childhood memory that there was a time that we use to ask for Rs.10 that also only on Friday as it was a half day for getting a Pepsi (that was back in Grade III). Gradually
of course the amount that was needed exceeded but at least the way I have been raised asking for it along with the true and whole reason never seemed to be a botheration and as some that are along with me consider it as an insult or shame, has never been the
case with me.

I am not referring to restricting the socializing options that the teenagers have these days because it is quite very crucial specially when it come to their professional networking later but the parents should at least keep a reasonable check on their children’s
activities just so that they are guided in a way that they never have to lie about anything or worse still start getting into fabricating the truth.
