The Twilight Saga: Breaking dawn part 1 smashed the big screens with an awesome Box Office reception, making it the fifth biggest Box Office debut. However, it received poor rating and worst reviews among the whole series.
Bill Condon’s Breaking Dawn is a two part romantic fantasy film and the fourth and the final instalment of the Twilight saga. Robert Pattinson, Kirsten Stewart and Taylor Lautner, alongside the rest of the Saga regulars have revived their roles.
This part follows Bella and Edward, plus those they love, must face the chain of consequences brought on by the marriage. In addition to this, the birth of their child brings a shocking development for Jacob Black. With more love, passion, and action, the
conclusion of the Twilight Saga begins.
The $110 million budgeted movie failed to live up the hype and received poor ratings and negative reviews from the top critics and users worldwide.
Review aggregator of Rotten Tomatoes reported that 28 percent of 165 counted reviews gave a positive review. The site general consensus declared the movie, “Slow, joyless, and loaded with unintentionally humorous moments, Breaking Dawn Part 1 may satisfy
the Twilight faithful, but it’s strictly for fans of the franchise.”
Peter Rainer of Christian Science Monitor stated, “For those of us who are not Twilight fanatics, or even fans, or could not care somewhat less than less, the arrival of Part 1 is not cause for trumpets blaring. But I would imagine that even those who line
up for this film will be somewhat let down.”
Tom Long of Detroit News however gave a better review. He said, “Romance, blood, battles and demons obviously trump common sense any day. Fans, enjoy. Newbies, beware.”
Despite poor critical reviews, it collected a B+ CinemaScore from the fans who rushed out to see it ("New Moon" enjoyed an "A-" CinemaScore while "Eclipse" scored a straight "A"); giving it the fifth biggest Box Office debut (It grossed $139.5 million domestically
and $283.5 million worldwide haul. It involves more romance, intrigue, passion and fight sequences, making it a worthwhile movie to watch.
