Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh leaves the Throne after 3 decades in power

The striking news has hit the block that Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has decided to shift the power to Vice President Abdo Rabu Mansour Hadi in next 30 days. Saleh paid visit to the city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and signed the deal
to leave his throne within specified time. By doing so, Saleh will make the latest leader to be ousted in the Arab uprisings.

According to the evidence that has been received through official sources, the Yemeni President showed no sign of regret while accepting the pact for power-shift. Instead, he   smiled as he signed the deal and clapped his hands a few times. The agreement
was signed in the presence of members of the Saudi royal families and international diplomats at the ceremony, which held in Riyadh. Following the official procedure, President Saleh also addressed the attendees of ceremony. He expressed his views regarding
the step that he has taken.

Saleh said: "This disagreement for the last 10 months has had a big impact on Yemen in the realms of culture, development, politics, which led to a threat to national unity and destroyed what has been built in past years."

Meanwhile, the American State Department spokesman Mark Toner stated that Washington supports the idea of a peaceful and orderly transition of power. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told that Saleh had told him to fly to New York for medical treatment
in the next few days, where the two of them are likely to set a meeting.

In the recent times, Saleh went through a lot of turmoil caused by opposition, who demanded the fall of his regime. There were mass protests on daily calling for his exile. Furthermore, he survived an assassination attempt in June, 2011. Back then, he was
badly wounded and had to travel to Saudi Arabia for more than 3 months of treatment.

Saleh’s removal from power after 33 years in power is being followed by the removal of Tunisian President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali in January, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in February and Libyan Moammar Gadhafi, last month.

Considering the current state of affair in middle east and Arab uprising, he has made the right choice for him. Peace out.
