Shahvar Ali Khan, who stepped into the Pakistani music industry with his debut single “No Saazish No Jang”, has thanked the Indian famed director -David Dhawan, admitting that the sensational director has played a huge role in
shaping up his career.
The talented Pakistani music icon admitted that he owes Dhawan a lot, who had been an inspiration to him, along with the music director –Pritam, who had won the IIFA award for his breathtaking music in Love Aaj Kal, to groom his
music skills.
“David Dhawan has really taught me how to tap the pulse of the ‘audience’. Previously, my music was esoteric and conceptual but his guidance helped me get a grip of the ‘hit meter’.”Khan was quoted as saying.
After producing his debut effort, which was in fact a peace anthem, the Lyricist-cum-musician was immediately dragged to the Bollywood industry by Rohit Dhawan for his upcoming movie “Desi Boys”.
Khan’s second track “Filmein Shilmein, Gaane Shaane” has been used as a background score in “Desi Boyz” starring the veteran Indian actors: Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
However the aforementioned song title will not be included among the other movie songs on the CD’s but the audience will get to hear it at several occasions during the much anticipated movie.
The fact that Khan jumped on to the chance to lend his music to a Bollywood flick “Desi Boyz”, rather immediately as compared to some other Pakistani icons, is because he has been close friends with Rohit Dhawan. Their chemistry
started when the star duo studied at Trinity College Connecticut together.
Speaking on their friendship, he said:
“As friends, Rohit and I are like Desi Boyz. Our story is similar to the film, because in spirit, Desi Boyz is a tale of friendship of two desi friends abroad.”
Khan revealed that he is unfazed by the challenge to take on the Bollywood industry too soon, highlighting a long way ahead.
“I don’t consider this opportunity as a”break’ in Bollywood, but It’s just a humble small gesture to pitch in my friends film but I’m still happy that my music is being recognised on international platforms.” Khan concluded.
