Criminal Minds’ Thomas Gibson denies quitting rumours

Criminal Minds’ lead actor Thomas Gibson who plays the role of Special Agent Aaron Hotchner has denied rumours of quitting the show and claimed that he is very much part of the crime series in the seventh season.
He further revealed why the show was so successful with the audience and the reasons for it being different from all the other investigating dramas.

Gibson has been part of the show since it started in the year 2005 and the series has just finished showing its sixth successful season.  He has appeared in all of the 145 episodes so far along with Shemar Moore and Matthew Gray
Gubler.

Agent Hotchner stated that the show is unique from all other crime dramas as it focuses on the criminal’s side of the story. All other shows rely on the forensic evidence but Criminal Minds is based on the team reading the mind
and the psychic of the unsub.

“I think it’s the fact that instead of physical forensics, it’s psychological forensics. I think that’s basically what sets it apart, as well as the character development. These are interesting stories; these are universal stories,
because unfortunately the cases that we deal with are some of the darker sides of human nature,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

The actor also admitted that the show’s success can also widely be credited to the characters involved. He stated that all the people involved have a unique personality and are surely developed a place amongst the viewers in the
six years.

On being asked about the next season, he added that the show is likely to continue for another two seasons and further if the situation at that time allows.

 “So I think that’s maybe one of the reasons that this show’s been successful. We all work very well together, it’s an interesting and good group of actors and the characters are all very complementary to each other as well,” he
concluded.

Criminal Minds won the ASCAP award for the Top TV Series three consecutive times from 2006-2008. The show has also been nominated for the Emmy Awards twice.
