Dude, that iPhone just got sold! What? Noooo

“Yaar tumhara koi dost iPhone to nai baich raha?

“Aik Baich raha tha but I think bik gya hai wo ab”

“Ohhh yaar na karo, pehle batana tha na”

Wait a second!

How was I supposed to know you wanted one so bad?

Does it occur to you by a chance that I am human and not blessed with supernatural powers to know what is in your mind?

This is what I think to myself every time I end up in such a conversation, but unfortunately fail to add voice to my feelings because I don’t have any other option.

Keeping in mind, Pakistan’s youth obsession with the sophisticated machine, showing your disinterest and ending the conversation on a rude note is like openly declaring yourself a Jew in Hitler’s era Germany- a risk I am not willing to take.

And after all it’s all my fault.

Being a Pakistani myself, it’s obligatory for me to know that every Pakistani in his 20s need an iPhone no matter he already owns one or not. One will walk to college or University and avoid cafeteria food to save money for an iPhone.

How can I be so naïve to dismiss from my mind such an important fact?

So I should stop whining and learn to accept, iPhone is a basic necessity just like water, food and clothes. The more quickly I accept it, the better it will be for me.

But wait!

I almost forgot to confess that I love iPhone too.

After all I have written above, it is hard to swallow but yes I do.

I think late Steve Jobs- creator of iPhone, was a genius and this square shaped gadget is without a doubt, one of the best inventions of this century. I even accept, all the hype surrounding iPhone is justified. Playing games, browsing facebook and youtube
is just a whole new experience on iPhone

Why I hate it when people discuss iPhone in front of me then?

Simple because I don’t own one 🙂 

(Those who were expecting the reasons to be completely different such as waste of time, money, dangers of materialism consuming youth and etc, don’t forget I am in my 20s too so why would I think any differently?)
