Criminal Minds’ star Matthew Gray Gubler reveals exciting stint behind the camera

 Criminal Minds’ star Matthew Gray Gubler has revealed his exciting stint behind the camera in the sixth season of the series. The actor admitted that it was a brilliant experience for him as he has studied filmmaking
before he started his acting career. He added that the show bosses loved his work so much that they requested him to direct some more episodes in the coming season.

The crime series ended its sixth season some time back and the DVDs have now been released. The show’s seventh season has started filming and will be ready by the start of next year.

Matthew Gray Gubler stated that he was very nervous initially when he asked his bosses about possibly directing one episode of the hit crime show. He revealed that he was surprised to know that the bosses were waiting for his approval
and allowed him to start work the next year.

Gubler has so far directed two episodes of the show, the 16^th episode from Season 5 and the 18^th episode from the sixth season.

“At first it was a very scary prospect because TV’s something I haven’t studied directing and it’s very fast-paced. I asked my boss, ‘What do I have to do to prove to you that I’m ready?’ and he kind of thought, and he said, ‘All
you had to do was ask’. He was like, ‘You can do one next year’,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

The actor who plays the role of Dr. Spencer Reid on the show added that he loves to interact with his fans as they have shown immense support in the last few years. The actor is delighted to continue in the seventh straight season
of the show.

“I love entertaining people in any way possible, and truly, the best part of filming it is seeing that the fans are so loyal and loving and supportive. So knowing that I get to bring them an ounce of entertainment [is great],”
he concluded.

Criminal Minds Season 7 consists of 24 episodes. The premiere of the seventh outing was held on September 21 this year.
