Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has rubbished the accusations from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, who claimed that the Sharif brothers Nawaz and Shahbaz have spent public money to construct their palace in Raiwind.
According to a PML-N spokesman there was no truth behind Imran’s allegations and he was just trying to malign their party.
The spokesman further went onto say that the PTI chief only wants to be in power and that lust has forced him to level cheap allegations on the Sharif brothers.
Earlier, Imran had claimed that the PML-N leaders have spent nine billion to construct their property in Raiwind with public money.
He had demanded all politicians to reveals their assets in public by saying, “All politicians should declare their assets. PTI is forming a special cell to probe foreign assets owned by politicians. We will go to the Supreme Court, we will for an independent
Election Commission, if politicians do not declare their assets. We will run a civil disobedience movement if they do not declare their assets.”
The PTI chairman had also revealed that he will declare his own assets in front of the media so that no one can point a finger at him.
Both PTI and PML-N have been at the throats of each other in recent times and the former party has gained a lot of public support, causing concern for the opposition.
The Sharif brothers have been trying to malign Imran for the past few months, but have failed to do so. They had claimed earlier that the former cricketer was being supported by the establishment.
However, Imran slammed such allegations by saying, “A case is already pending in courts against the PML-N’s top leaders over taking money from the establishment. The federal and Punjab governments have failed at every front and therefore there is no need
for the establishment to hatch conspiracies against them.”
PML-N has always been alleged of being running after power, as they have a history of joining hands with the opposition in order to come into rule.
Nawaz was an ally of military dictator Zia-ul-Haq, but now curses him because of the damage he caused to the nation.
Similarly, he joined hands with the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain in the nineties, but then turned against him and finally he did the same with PPP.
