Apple starts importing new 4-inch display screens for iPhone 5
Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 8:25:31 by Usman KhalidMore rumour related to Apple’s next generation iPhone pure in with the day. The tech goliath recently released the iPhone 4S, an upgrade to the 2010 release of their signature smartphone, iPhone 4.
Rumour has it that new iPhone will have a 4-inch wider screen as compared to the currently trending 3.7 size. However, where this might be good news for consumers who are fanatic of wider and bigger screens, there might be a lag in the infamous Retina Display.
The current edition of the handheld has 320 pixels per square inch or ppi, but if Apple keeps the same 960 x 640 resolution, then Retina label is out the door.
However, it is highly unlikely that Apple will ever say good-bye to its infamous trademark that has seen a success in the recent times. Moreover, the Retina Display is one of few weapons that are combating against Samsung, LG and Motorola’s AMOLED screens.
Therefore, it can be expected that the new 4-inch screen will have a denser resolution, say 1080×720, which will get the pixel density to around 300 ppi.
Moreover, Apple has also cracked a new slimmer battery both for iPad and iPhone and it is likely to be incorporated in these new instalments expected come March or April.
The 4’ screen had been associated with the iPhone 4S, then-alleged-iPhone 5, but there might be truth to these rumours as the company is again linked to such inventory.
Sony Mobile Display Corporation and Hitachi in association with Toshiba Mobile Display are working on these next generation displays which will become an adornment to the iPhone 5.
The World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) is still five months away, pending until April and it is the big stage where Apple usually raises curtains on their newest surprise in the bag. However, if iPad 3 spawns in March than hopes for a new iPhone should
be prolonged to the latter half of 2012.
