Justin Beiber, the most searched person on the Internet
Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 1:13:49 by Melvin ArthurJustin Bieber, the young singing sensation, trending worldwide with his feet-thumping music, hip-shaking groove and expensive video productions, was named as the most searched person this year on Internet search engine Bing, on Monday. Bieber’s search hype
on the internet showed a clear picture which framed out reality TV star Kim Kardashian and ‘Friends’ actress Jennifer Aniston.
A survey conducted by the search engine, Bieber-fever surpassed all other competitors in the vicinity. Bieber fever took over Bing in 2011, as the 17-year-old Canadian singer rose from last year’s sixth position to reach in at first place this year. He was
entitled as the most searched name and musician, based on billions of search queries during the year.
Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who came across Bieber’s videos on YouTube and later became his manager. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint
venture between Braun and Usher. Bieber moved to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid.
Bieber rose to stardom from his debut single, ‘One Time’, which was released in 2009. The single peaked in the top ten in Canada and charted in the top thirty in several international markets. Bieber’s debut album, ‘My World’ was soon to follow in November
2009. The album was certified as platinum in the United States.
The sensational pop artist was the only male in the list to be featured in the top 10 list. Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian fell from last year’s number one position and Aniston moved from last year’s number nine position to number three this year, with
her rising profile attributed to a burgeoning film career and highly-publicized private life.
Actresses Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox and singers Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus rounded out most searched names.
Despite ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1’, grabbing a staggering $489.3 million at global box offices so far, latest instalment of the "Mission Impossible" franchise was the most searched film of the year, with "Ghost Protocol" due for release
in December.
