Punjab Government signs a contract with Chinese company for 575 CNG Buses

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Mohammad Shabaz Sharif, has announced that the Punjab government is implementing a new strategy for the comfort of people, so that they can enjoy the rise of affordable and comfortable transport
service.

He shared his thoughts about the transportation infra-structure in Punjab, during a contract signing ceremony. The ceremony was held to sign an agreement between Punjab Government and a Chinese automobile firm Anhui Ankai Automobile
Company Limited, for the provision of buses.

The agreement was signed between the chairman of Lahore transport company, Khawaja Ahmad Hassan, and Chinese company chairman, Wang Jiang’an.

The agreement states that the Chinese company will provide 575 modern CNG air-conditioned buses for the cities of Punjab province.

While addressing the event, Shahbaz Sharif announces that the buses will be spread in Rawalpinidi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and other big cities of Punjab. He also said that the signing of agreement with the Chinese company
is a welcome step.

He added that the buses will be handed over to best transport operators in these cities. He said that the CNG air-conditioned buses are already providing services in Lahore city successfully with the cooperation of Foton Company
while this new agreement signed with Ankai Company will allow them to cover most areas of Punjab.

The chairman of Ankai Company said that the prosperity of Pakistani nation his priority as compared to the commercial interest of the agreement signed and co-operation will be done with Punjab Government for providing buses
on easy terms.

He also called upon the representatives, who are responsible for the completion of different projects, to ensure the transparent and timely completion of the projects.

He said that such agreements with the Chinese provider of buses were made to strengthen the local structure of transport system and to provide people with latest and comfortable buses instead of the buses which are in pathetic
or obsolete condition to travel.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Chinese company, member Provincial Assembly, Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed and the Planning & Development chairman, secretaries of Transport and Finance departments.
