After Pakistan announced to boycott the Bonn Conference on Afghanistan yesterday, today it’s Ambassador to China Masood Khan had also conveyed the message to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Khan told that his government had taken the decision to
boycott the conference after country’s federal cabinet’s resolution.

In addition to that the Ambassador to China, had also told the Foreign Ministry of China about the important decisions which Cabinet had taken under the supervision of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

Masood Khan also highlighted the Chinese Foreign Ministry that Pakistan gives utmost significance to constancy and amity in Afghanistan. Additionally, Pakistan is in favour of having an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned reconciliation process.

The Ambassador put across Pakistan Cabinet’s strong desire that the international community should re-assure its support in order to have peace and growth in Afghanistan.

Pakistani Cabinet announced it’s decision to boycott the Bonn Conference on Tuesday after the brutal attack of NATO/ISAF on Pakistani check-posts last week at Afghanistan border. As result of this cruel attack 24 Pakistani soldiers had lost their lives and
got severely 13 injured.

After that attack, China had called international community to pay full respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Pakistan. China also demanded scrupulous enquiry of the November 26 attack.

Pakistan and China had always remained in close coordination before participating in any major international conference. Both Pakistan and China seek peace, stability, national reconciliation and financial reform in Afghanistan.

Earlier, after Pakistan had decided to not to attend Bonn Conference an international conference on Afghanistan’s future in protest against the Nato raid, US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and the White House had asked it’s front ally in the war against
terror to reconsider it’s decision and should take part in conference that’ll be held in Germany.

Speaking at an aid conference in South Korea, on Wednesday Clinton said, "Frankly this is regrettable that Pakistan has decided not to attend the conference in Bonn because this conference has been long in the planning."

Clinton had also repeated the U.S stance that the border killing of Pakistani soldiers was a "tragic incident" and vowed an enquiry "as swiftly and thoroughly as possible."
