Nokia Lumia 800: Full Hands-on review – Part 2
Sunday, December 4th, 2011 4:53:35 by Usman KhalidThere are Nokia Music Store, video sharing and 3G services available with the new phone. Among several features, the phone provides built-in Facebook app however; the Twitter application has to be manually downloaded but it costs nothing.
The best feature inside the OS is the Bluetooth contact transfer. Nokia has incorporated this addition for the first time in any cell phone. The user merely needs to connect the phone to another and the contacts are imported or exports within no time.
The new Windows Phones 7.5 Mango is one of the best operating systems available in contemporary market. Although WP 8 is around the corner, this version will be worth having in the pocket for a couple of years.
There magnification feature, browsing and menus navigation are some of the features in an OS that are employed the most in day to day activities. This operating system does not have a single stutter in these activities. Moreover, qHD display has the best
magnification in the market. There is no pixilation or break in a picture.
However, the camera has some drawbacks. The HD camera is quite impressive video quality but the snapshots seem to have some flaws. The colours, although the palette is filled with 16m colours, delivers a picture with washed out colours as compared to iPhone
4 or 4S or Galaxy series.
In addition, the quality of the picture looks there is plastic lens nestled inside the camera instead of tradition Carl Zeiss glass.
The covers on the micro-SIM card and micro-USB slots are fragile and their might be a chance that they break the tandem.
The Single-Core Adreno CPU might be low-end technology but WP 7.5 runs like a walk in the park on the phone.
With Nokia’s ExpressMusic sound quality, there is nothing much one would ask for listening to favourite tunes.
Overall, the shape, the OS and features are spectacular yet subtle and there is no doubt in its high sales in the UK and rest of Europe.
