Despicable Me: Cutest movie ever

Universal Pictures’ Despicable Me is a 2010 computer animated 3D comedy film that was released on July 9th, 2010 in the United States. The movie generally received positive reviews and rocked the box office.

The $69 million budgeted movie follow a criminal mastermind Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), surrounded by a cute small army of minions, who is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He vanquished all who stand in his way until the evil mastermind
encountered three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls names Margo (Miranda Corgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier)
and Agnes (Elsie Fisher).

The film received generally positive reviews. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reports that 81 percent of critics have given the film a positive review based on 187 reviews, with an average score of 6.8 out of 10. Site’s general consensus states, “Borrowing
heavily (and intelligently) from Pixar and Looney Tunes, Despicable Me is a surprisingly thoughtful, family-friendly treat with a few surprises of its own.”

Laremy Legal of the Film.com praised the movie, “Despicable Me is darned cute. I know cute isn’t to the lofty level of "message storytelling" but it can be entertaining to watch when done correctly.”

Chris Vognar of Dallas News said, ”There’s a fine line between gleeful anarchy and wasted energy, and Despicable Me has a wonderful knack for staking out its spot and staying on the right side.”

However, A.O. Scott of the New York Times had a different point of view. He stated, “So much is going on in this movie that, while there’s nothing worth despising, there’s not much to remember either.”

Despicable Me opened to number one spot at the Box Office and pocketed $56.3 million, making it the third biggest opening gross for an animated film in 2010 behind Toy Story 3 and Shrek Forever After. However, in its second weekend, the flick dipped to 42
percent to second place behind Inception.

Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, the movie is a must watch for all genre. And with cute little girls and adorable minions, no one can resist watching it.
