Osama Bin Laden Commission to present its findings by the end of December; says Justice (retd.) Javed Iqbal

Islamabad – December 8, Justice Retd. Javed Iqbal, the chief of the Abbotabad Commission, while addressing a press conference here, said that his team was expected to complete its investigation into the US raid that claimed killing
the Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden on May 2, by the end of December.

Justice (rtd.) Javed said that they will present their detailed report to the government and will recommend it to make the findings of the commission public.

While conducting its investigations, the Abbotabad had interviewed more than 100 people. According to the news, a questionnaire was also sent to President Asif Ali Zardari, and he was supposed to answer it in capacity of the co-chairman
of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

The press briefing by the chief of the commission took an interesting turned when a reporter asked him whether the person died in the operation was actually Osama Bin Laden. Responding to the query, Justice (rtd.) Javed said that
if this question alone was answered, there would be nothing left to tell.

During the investigation, the Abbotabad commission conducted thorough investigation sessions with the witnesses of the incident and government officials who were thought to have a tip-off about the operation.

Sharing the details of the commissions’ investigation, the chief of the commission said that his team had made 5 field visits to the Osama Bin Laden’s compound. He said that they had also reviewed the way through which the American
helicopters entered the compound and the American Navy seals conducted the operation.

There is no denying the fact that common Pakistanis are eager to know about the findings of the Abbotabad commission. Their concern is not only there with how OBL lived too close to the Kakool academy, but also with the fact that
why American helicopter were not hunted down and on which cost they were allowed to conduct an operation without having Pakistan’s military authorities on board.

The findings of the commission will not only provide a deeper insight into the entire incident, but it will also unmask the culprits whose involvement brought this shame to the entire nation.
