Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD: New specs leaked
Thursday, December 8th, 2011 8:07:16 by Usman KhalidSony Ericsson has been in the orders of revamping the company since the start of 2011 second half. First Sony Corporation announced they will be purchasing Ericsson’s stake in the joint venture and then joined hands with Google to produce the new Xperia
Arc HD smartphone powered with Android OS.
The new phone is the bold statement from Sony Ericsson of making haste into the smartphone industry. The Xperia will be their first step in that quest. However, the company has been having hard time keeping the phone under closed confines prior to the announcement.
The new handheld has been the sweetheart of tech geeks all over the world of late. There have been many leaked photos and specification sheets leaked on the web.
The latest has kept the tabs on the upcoming phone and it clearly reveals the shape of the phone. In addition to the pictures; the inside man has also unveiled the specifications of the new phone.
The Xperia HD will be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor supported by 1 GB of RAM. The qHD screen is AMOLED and protected by a scratch and finger print free, oil stain-less Gorilla Glass.
The phone seemed slim and although complete specs were not revealed, it might have a 4.7 inch screen nestled inside a slimmer-than-iPhone chassis.
There is 32 GB built-in storage but no extra micro-SD card slot, so the users will have to dwell on the limited storage.
If all this is not new to techies, the smartphone has a 12-megapixel camera that is capable of capturing 720p full HD video. However, the phone has the capability of playing 1080p HD video.
The operating system, as mentioned above, is Google’s latest version of Android, the Ice Cream Sandwich. The specs, as mentioned in the sheet, might fairly justify the new operating system from Google they have put their money on.
Sony Ericsson are expected to raise curtains on the first Android-based smartphone at the Consumer Electronic Show 2012, that will commence on the January 10 through January 16.
