Mansoor Ijaz: As Untrustworthy and Dirty as They Come

Nowadays, our media is filled with reports of Mansoor Ijaz’s article in the Newsweek magazine regarding the memo that was supposedly sent by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari through Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani on how the military
leadership of the country could be changed and controlled.
The disappointing part might be how our so-called “Patriotic” media covered this issue by blowing it up into something it was purposely meant to be and how it was given so much coverage without having any single proven fact in it, but at the moment, we will
be discussing who this Mansoor Ijaz is and how he has gained so much popularity over the past few weeks.
Looking at the history of Mansoor Ijaz, an American born, self-proclaimed Pakistani, belongs to the religion of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who gave birth to a new belief called Ahmediyat and termed it into being that of relation to Islam but has nothing to do with
it whatsoever.
Ijaz is notorious for being extremely controversial in anything and everything he does along with untrustworthy and probably the dirtiest to have ever existed due to the way he conducts business and holds relations with other people.
He gained popularity in the past for being a pro-supporter of the then American President, George W. Bush, especially for his foreign policy and how the US conducted its relations with the Middle East and Pakistan, which shows that he has been Anti-Pakistan
in the past as well.
In 2006, Ijaz appeared again in an interview with Gulf News saying that Iran had already created nuclear bombs along with the US being capable enough to overthrowing the Iranian government, which was something he also supported.
During the years when Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mansoor Ijaz was widely known to be plotting against her in every possible way. We can see that the then Foreign Secretary Najmudin Sheikh, also termed Ijaz as “vindictive
and without credibility”.
This shows that Mansoor Ijaz is not officially against Zardari but overall is against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which could be seen due to Zulifqar Ali Bhutto passing a motion in Pakistani law that Ahmadis were to be declared non Muslims, a reason
for his hate towards the biggest political party of the country.
When President Zardari and former Ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani, can get into contact directly with the American administration, why would they feel the need to use Ijaz as a mediator.
It is hard to see how someone who has been dirty and unreliable throughout his life can be so trusted now, which pinpoints our media as something which is looking just for the cash raking stories instead of contradicting such news.
