Actor Matt Damon has revealed that he will not be a part of the fourth outing of the ‘Bourne’ series as there is nothing left in it. The actor feels that the concept has already been dragged to three films and a fourth outing would
have made no sense at all.
The ‘Bourne’ Trilogy has grossed close to $1 billion worldwide and has been one of the most successful franchises in the last decade. The series was written by Tony Gilroy and Matt Damon has starred in all the three films so far,
garnering a lot of praise.
Damon claimed that he was fed up with how the third movie turned out and is happy that he will not be part of the fourth edition of the series. He admitted that Tony had brought him the script for the next part and he felt that
it was the same old concept that was following.
“If you look at the first three movies, we kind of pounded that idea of identity and amnesia into the ground. We really got everything out of it that we could. So to reboot it, we need to come up with something completely new,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The ‘Adjustment Bureau’ star also revealed his plans of getting behind the camera in the future and stated that he has ideas which he wants to bring on the screen. He admitted that he is excited about directing a movie in the future
and is confident that he has had the experience to come out good.
“When I first started getting work, I felt like acting was the most important thing. But the more you do it, the more you realize that in the end, the director has all the power,” the actor concluded.
Matt Damon is known for his roles in ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘Bourne’ series and the ‘Oceans’ series. He is one of the most accomplished actors currently in Hollywood.
