: The new iPad 3: Will 2012 see an improved Apple tablet? – Part 2
Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 12:07:48 by Usman KhalidMoreover, the company is also considering an extremely thinner battery for iPad 3, which will help in keeping the breadth of the new slate intact. In addition, if the RD display, or QXGA display whichever comes first, is not much thicker, the new edition
might be slimmer than the benchmarked iPad 2.
There are gossips airing that 2012 might see two iPads instead of just one. Furthermore, the two iPads might cater two different categories. The March/April release might embrace a mere upgrade to the iPad 2—an iPad 2S—and the later one might land in September-quarter
with a full HD display.
On the flip side, the two iPads might be released hand-in-hand together, catering to entirely different demographics. It is rumoured that one of them might be a 10-inch tablet like the iPad 2 and the second one might be a 7-inch, low-cost device to address
the new market segment created by Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Barnes and Noble’s Nook Color.
The iPhone 4S’ major selling point was the improved camera (with five lenses) and the virtual assistant Siri. Although iOS hackers have cracker the Siri for iPad 2, hidden in the iOS 5 source code, it still won’t work until it gets a go ahead from Apple.
This assistant is expected in the iPad 3, with full features of course.
The current iPad has an A4 dual-core processor working as its brains but since the iPhone 4S has a newer A5 chip it is also expected to augment the strength of iPad 3. However, it is also speculated that Apple might add an advanced A6 chip, which is also
rumoured a quad-core processor.
If this all or even a pinch of the aforementioned is incorporated in the 2012 version, the iPad 3 will surely become the kingpin of tablets once again even overtaking its ancestor, iPad 2.

I think Apple is doing a great disservice to their customers of iPhone and iPad by not incorporating the flash player for Kindle and other android apps….I want to subscribe to steaming services at many sites but am limited by the flash player. I am considering adding a Kindle to my collection to add Amazon Prime, but I love my IPad and am afraid I will not use it…I want to watch television series without interruptions…come on Apple…get on wagon with subscription services to movies and television shows on iTunes or install the flash player darn it…just an old lady from Maryland…now that I look at services, it makes me doubt whether I should have bought the iPad 🙁
