Ab Hien Log Pathar Kay (Today’s People Are Stone-hearted)…….

Who says the human beings have changed? A woman used to collect the garbage of her house, go to the roof and pour it on a gentle passerby daily. After the passage of fourteen hundred years, we collect the garbage, fill it in shopping bags properly, stand
in the courtyard of our houses and throw the bags out in street. Stop here and think for a second that what is the difference between that woman and us—- the so called civilised ones?

Here I would like to quote Mohsin Naqvi. He says,“Tareekh Hzaron sal ma bs itni si badly hy Mohsin, Pehlay that dor pathar ka ab hien log pathar kay” (the history, in thousands of years, has just changed from stone age to stone hearts).

Passing by streets, we shall see shopping bags filled with rubbish lying here and there, producing odour and shitting the clothes of those who have to trample this mess to move. Sometimes, it happens that you are passing in your own trance, a dirty bag explodes
on your head and forces you to return to take shower and change clothes. How disgusting this is!

In this civilized society, it has become a trend to clean houses and shit streets. Why do we forget that we have to pass by the same street where we are throwing garbage? But how can we think of it as we ‘love’ cleanliness.

Municipal authorities have placed dustbins on every nook and corner with a message written on every single of them ‘Use Me’, but we, who feel proud to break every law, do not bother to dump garbage through proper channel.

After polluting our surroundings, it seems too nonsense when we complain of diseases, allergies and dirt. Believe me, no one can make you learn ethics. It is only you who can do it by yourself if you want. But we do not want as we already pose to be ‘civilised’.
If we start working on mannerism, this tag will not stay on our foreheads more. We shall be called human beings which we do not like to be.
