The UEFA Champions League draws for the round of sixteen took place today and the end result, proved to be a little bit harsh for the English sides still left in the competition.
Arsenal and Chelsea are the only two teams standing in Europe’s leading contest from England and the two sides are now set to face off against two Italian giants.
Arsenal have been paired up against AC Milan, while Chelsea will be facing Napoli in the torunamnet.
On paper, Arsenal’s game against Milan seems to be far more challenging than Chelsea’s against Napoli. However, based on facts, it seems like Arsenal may have much better luck of getting through their match with a positive result.
Arsenal have managed to beat Milan by two goals to nil the last time they met and should the team continue to perform the same way, this time around, they could easily beat the Italians.
All Arsene Wenger needs to do, is to get his players to use their pace and quick attacks to try and ripple through the Milan back line.
On the other hand, Chelsea are set to face off against the best counter attacking team in Italy. Napoli are one of the fastest Italian sides around and this could prove to be a problem for Chelsea.
The Blues tend to play a high defensive line and should the likes of Edinson Cavani and Lavezzi use their pace to beat their offside trap, then it would be game, set and match for the Italians.
Nonetheless, Boas is going to have more than enough time on his hands to get his team up and ready in time to face Napoli.
It is now a wait to see just how the England sides perform against their Italian opponents and whether any English side makes it into the quarter finals of the tournament or not.
