LAHORE,
December 14: Member Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (gas), Muzaffar Mansoor on Wednesday said the Lahore High Court, that the authority was not taken into account before implementing the plan of gas loadshedding.
The
Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had made the decision and asked the Ogra to implement the plan of gas load management, responded to a query from Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah that if the recommendations are requested prior to execution Ogra
loadshedding plan.
The judge noted that if the government did not want to seek recommendations from Ogra, the authority should be dissolved.
He said the federation had consulted experts of Ogra, gas load ‘bad management’ could have been avoided.
Justice Shah noted the government `s style of work and ignore the role of Ogra in deciding the plan
of gas loadshedding. "Few ministers meet in a cup of tea and leave after taking decisions without consulting
the experts," the judge said.
It relieved the members of Ogra (gas) of appearance in upcoming
hearings saying that the authority could not do their job, but the court definitely will.
The
judge further adjourned the hearing for Thursday (today) and directed the Sui Northern Gas pipelines Limited to produce a complete record of gas consumption for industrial and CNG filling stations and gas supply ratio and loadshedding.
The judge was hearing a writ petition of all Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA)
against loadshedding three-day week.
The association through its President Abdullah Paracha Ghiyas Center said the government
had no jurisdiction to apply the loadshedding. He said that not only public, but the families that belong
to the company GNC face hardship and economic loss.
He asked the court to set aside three days weekly CNG loadshedding, declaring
unconstitutional and a violation of fundamental rights of citizens.
