Karachi: (December 19) during a meeting with PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif Baloch leader Ataullah Khan Mengal said that Balochistan had reached to a point of no return. And mistakes made by Balochs also had a role to play in the present
state of the province.
Speaking to the media after the meeting Mengal said they had suffered the consequences of their past mistakes and those dying in Balochistan were also human beings.
“The existing conditions have led to Balochistan reaching the point of no return,” Mengal said adding that the situation was not in his control anymore and talks would need to be held with the youth present on the mountains of the province.
The BNP head criticised the atrocities which were taking place in Balochistan and questioned why there was no action by the Army.
Nawaz Sharif said Mengal’s concerns were legitimate and atrocities were being committed in Balochistan.
“My party will fight the case for Balochistan. We love Balochistan and it is an important part of Pakistan,” Sharif said.
The case of Balochistan has become a crucial one with new and new atrocities being committed onto the local people by secret agencies.
The present unrest and chaos in the province can largely be attributed to the murder of the Blaoch leader Akbar Bugti who was assassinated during a military operation in the regime of general Pervaiz Musharraf.
While talking to Mengal in Karachi, the PML-N chief also insisted on the fact that the process of normalizations could only be initiated if murderer of Akbar Bugti was to be trailed fairly and justice be served to the people of
Balochistan.
While committing to address to the woes of the Balochi people, Nawaz Sharif said that it was he and his party who were going to fight the case of Balochs in Pakistan.
In past many months, this is the first time when a leader of national stature has committed and contacted the Baloch leaders to resolve the province issues. If such progresses are continued with, hopes are there that the country
may get rid of recent chaos going on in Balochistan.
