Vidya Balan says no to Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Rana’

Vidya Balan has no doubt left everyone flabbergasted with her magnificent performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’ which was recently released on December 2, 2011 in the cinemas worldwide and as a result to which she is now ruling the wish-list of many filmmakers.
This could be a reason why the Bollywood Buzz, Balan, has turned down Rajinikanth’s offer, who is a southern superstar, media personality and a cultural icon.

The 61-year-old Indian cinema’s legend, Rajinikanth, who other than acting also works as a producer and screenwriter, wanted Vidya Balan to sign a contract with him for his upcoming film ‘Rana’ before Balan turned his offer down.

One of the Vidya’s close associates told the media that Vidya couldn’t accept Rajinikanth’s offer because of her tight schedule but the reason which looks more valid to everyone is Vidya’s new status, as her classic beauty and great work has now made her
a very strong contender in the Indian cinema.  

“Vidya was excited when she learnt that Rajnikanth wanted to cast her in Rana. But due to date hassles she had to opt out of the film,” said VB’s close associates.

As per another Bollywood source, Vidya was not provided with a proper script by Rajinikanth because it is not completely ready as of yet otherwise someone worth Vidya’s name and bank balance would have left everything to work Rajinikanth.

“Vidya is in a position to choose her work. She wants to work with big names like Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, but not without a detailed narration. Vidya is at a stage where she cannot afford to succumb to the temptation of working with big
actors without knowing the details of her role in the film,” says a Bollywood source.

The success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ has certainly taken Vidya Balan to a new stardom and she now stands alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. It is fair to say that Balan has emerged as the Khan among the Bollywood heroines and she has also
become as a very popular name in the South. However, let’s see if Balan changes her mind and signs a contract with Rajinikanth.
