The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gilani, recently made a statement in which he said that the country is not on the verge of another martial law nor any care taker government. The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed himself while addressing the
session of the National Assembly.
The statement by Yousuf Raza Gilani was made after Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who is the leader of the opposition party, expressed himself by affirming that his party would not be supporting any force that is undemocratic in nature.
Chaudary Nisar Ali Khan expressed himself on the matter of the current political situation in the country in the following words: “The government has become so fragile that the prime minister held a meeting with the chief of army staff (COAS), which was
covered by the media to prove things were under control. Pakistan is not a banana republic or a security state that the PM needs a meeting with the COAS to regain confidence. The government should gain confidence from Parliament. The matter is in the Supreme
Court, the army is saying the memo is a reality but the prime minister says whatever James Jones has said is true.”
There has been talk of a political upheaval since the time that the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had left for Dubai on account of his health. Upon his departure, it was said that the President of Pakistan was experiencing heart pains and was urged
on by his son, Bilawal Bhutto to visit the doctor in Dubai. Despite the fact that Asif Ali Zardari did not want to leave the country, the President of Pakistan still left and got his checkup done based on which Asif Ali Zardari was admitted to the hospital
for a while.
During the time that the President of Pakistan was away, there was talk of the health issue being used as an excuse as it was rumored that the military of Pakistan was pressurizing the President to step down from the office. Similarly, it was also said that
the President of Pakistan did not want to be in the country for the Hussain Haqqani case.
