Tesla announced the sedan version of its electric automobile, Tesla Model S – Part 2

The back side of the car is aerodynamic and has a sports-oriented shape of less resistance to the air friction. The side skirts are also a work of art to indulge the car into a more sporty form.
Under the hood is a 42 kW·h powered electric engine that has only one moving part. This diminutive engine has more than meets the eye. It takes the whole bulk of luxury from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a mere 5.6 seconds and it is smooth as well. The company
claimed earlier that the 0-60 mph would become possible in 4.4 seconds but considering the luxury that resides inside, 5.6 seconds is not a bad bargain.
The battery-pack inside churns out longer battery life and gives the car a long ride despite of the weight inside the vehicle. The average range of the 42 kW·h battery-pack is 160 miles. However, the upgraded models have even longer range. Tesla offers a
10-year or 100,000 miles warranty for the batteries. However, they claim that the cells are manufactured to live forever.
Other versions of the same car have even longer battery life. The seven-seated version worth $59,900 delivers 60 kWh (230-mile-range) and the $69,900 model offers 85 kWh (300-mile-range). The ultimate upgrade to the Model S is worth $79,900 that comes with
Nappa-leather interior and 85 kWh-powered engine takes the car from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. Therefore, the claim that the company made earlier is true somehow.
Although the curtains were raised on the Model S in December, Tesla customer and electric car enthusiasts will have to wait until mid-2012
to get their hands on the saloon version.
