Director Christopher Nolan has revealed that he extremely satisfied with the final outcome of the sequel to the 2008 Blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight’. He admitted that it has been a long journey and that the film is very close to
his heart.
The Dark Knight released in the summer of 2008 and collected a staggering $1 billion worldwide. The movie was made at a cost of $185 million and is one of the highest grosser of all time.
Nolan claimed that he did not show on the set how emotional he was and pretended that he was professional but inside he was feeling the emotions as he knew this would be the last of the series he would be directing. The Director
admitted that he has learned a lot from the journey and is hopeful that the fans will love the second outing as well like they loved the first one.
“I tend not to be too emotional on the set, I find that doesn’t help me do my job. But you definitely get a little lump in your throat thinking that, ‘Okay, this is going to be the last time we’re going to be doing this.’ It’s
been quite a journey,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
‘The Inception’ director also showered praise on actor Tom Hardy. He claimed that Hardy is a great actor and has been very helping on the sets. He also added that all the actors have worked really hard on the film and everybody
is excited about the outcome.
“I only knew him by name; I wasn’t familiar with his back story. He’s a very cool character. And getting an actor like Tom to take it on, you know you’re going to get something very special,” he concluded.
The Dark Knight Rises is set to release in July next year.
