Firefox now supports the two-finger swipe gesture that moves the user to the next website opened in another tab without even hovering the mouse cursor over the
tab.
In addition, it also has support for multi-screen options that are hot-favourite among the programmers, more like mandatory for faster working.
The most important changes in Firefox 9 for developers are that sites that run Ajax and download large data sets will load faster, and sites can now display content as it is being downloaded, thanks to new support to chunking XHR requests. While a technical
term, the upshot of chunking XHR requests, is that developers can build Web sites to receive large amounts of data faster, and thus making the site itself faster to load.
Furthermore, the developers can also use the javascript to detect the Do Not Track preferences in the browser and can also avoid cookies to be used to track the user’s browsing behaviour.
The best updates have been done for the Android version, which also sports a touch-screen interaction on host devices. For once, users can believe that Firefox has produced a full version for mobile devices. However, this version is only compatible to tablets.
The swipe function that was discussed for the Mac OS X version has also been incorporated into the Android piece. There are however, more functionalities are included into it. The Back button has been moved to the address bar and can where the refresh and
bookmark had been residing all this time. The refresh and bookmark has been moved to the corner for easy access to while holding the tablet in hands.
