Imran Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, advised the PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz) to resign the legislatures to get rid of President Asif Zardari.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s Central Secretariat, in Islamabad, the cricket-turned politician alleged that the PML-N was staging a ‘go Zardari go’ drama but had not taken any practical steps yet to end the PPP-led government.
In his views, both the PPP and PML-N are making fools the masses under the garb of targeting each other. He observed, “There is a very easy way to get rid of Zardari. Why is the PML-N not quitting the assemblies? If it does so, the party (PPP) will be over”.
Imran Khan defended many senior political leaders who joined hands with him, quitting the PML-Q. He was of the opinion that PTI was in need of veteran political figures and the new entrants fulfill all the necessities.
Commenting about Nawaz Sharif, the captain stated that the PML-N was disappointed that so many senior politicians were joining hands with Imran Khan instead of his party. He explains that this was the major reason behind vocal attacks on him and the PTI.
He was looking quite a senior politician when he asked about the concluding incident of Kasur rally in which thousands of chairs were taken away by the participants. The gathering was arranged by former foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri to mark his
joining the PTI.
The legendary cricketer of his era was of the opinion that one should be ready for the poorer situation if the commoners were not provided basic needs of life.
The PTI chief further informed, “We respect the courts and we shall send a team of lawyers to the court in this connection,” he maintained”.
Replying to a query, Imran observed that inglorious issue of memogate should be probed thoroughly, terming it a serious matter related to national security. He acknowledged that Sindh High Court (SHC) had barred him from contesting a public rally at the
Mazar-e-Quaid, to be held on December 25.
Imran expressed that only unity and harmonies could reinstate lasting peace in Karachi, the port city and business hub of the country.
