Bipasha Basu hopes ‘The Dirty Picture’ is not a fluke

Dusky beauty, Bipasha Basu, who is one of the leading Indian actresses in the Bollywood industry, has shared her thought over the success of Ekta Kapoor’s and Shobha Kapoor’s film ‘The Dirty Picture’ which
has recently been released in the cinemas worldwide on December 2, 2011.

Bipasha basically visited the Dailybhaskar.com office yesterday to promote her forthcoming film ‘Players’, which is based on the 2003 Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Italian Job’ but she was also asked to share
her thoughts over ‘The Dirty Picture’.

Bipasha stated she is really glad to see the success of ‘The Dirty Film’, as she said she never thought a women oriented movie could do such a good business in India. Bipasha insisted she is happy for
the success of the ‘The Dirty Picture’ because she believes this film has opened doors for other such movies.

“I am glad that men are coming out of the houses to watch women oriented movies. It’s great to see that these movies have the power to attract numbers. Though I hope that The Dirty Picture is not a fluke
and more such movies will continue to work, as it opened doors to the fact that this kind of cinema can work in India,” Bipasha said.

‘The Dirty Picture’, which sees Vidya Balan playing a lead role in it, has racked up a lot of money. The film received both critical and commercial success as a result to which Vidya Balan, who played
a role of late southern sex icon Silk Smitha, is now on the wish-list of many leading producers in the Bollywood industry. The other films which were released alongside ‘The Dirty Picture’ are not even near to it when it comes to the success rate.

However, the only film which everyone thinks will overpower ‘The Dirty Picture’ is Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated ‘Don 2 – The King is Back’. The film will see the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, and
former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, playing lead roles in it.

Let’s see which film is rated as the best at the end of this year.
