Coldplay delighted with response to new album
Friday, December 23rd, 2011 3:50:19 by Waqas TariqThe UK band has expressed its delight on the sensational response to their new album ‘Mylo Xyloto’. The group admitted that it is a dream come true for them as it was their first album in three years.
Their last album ‘Viva la Vida’ sold over nine million records worldwide and peaked the charts in UK. They were voted ‘The Best Band’ on many award shows and are currently one of the best groups in the world.
The band drummer Will Champion claimed that they have worked very hard on their new album which is why it has taken them so long to release it. Viva la Vida released in 2008 and it took the group a period of three years to complete their fifth album.
Champion admitted that they got busy in tours and concerts so they wanted to give ample time to the new record. He insisted that the new outing is very much different from Viva la Vida as they wanted the songs to look fresh.
“We haven’t really done much to be honest! We’ve been working pretty much solidly. We toured and then the next album quickly started to evolve. I think we only had a month off. We wanted it to feel like a fresh start as if we’re starting as a new band. You
need a fresh mindset to keep you motivated,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Digital Spy.
The band member revealed that his favourite song is ‘Up in the Flames’ because it is still fresh in his mind as it was the song they last recorded. He remained hopeful that the album would perform well and surpass the collections of their previous project.
“That’s like asking which of your child is your favourite. They mean a lot to us, they frustrate us as well as inspire us. My favourite at the moment is ‘Up In Flames’, probably because it’s the most recent song we recorded,” he concluded.
Coldplay released the first video from their new album named ‘Paradise’ and the song has been garnering great reviews.
