Indian company introduces world’s cheapest tablet

Aaskash, which means sky in Hindi, is intended to be introduce among developing countries with high growth rates, especially China, Russia and Brazil.
The second edition of this device, which was manufactured by UbiSlate, designed and funded by the Government of India, was sold out in just one week . If the first cost just under 80 Euros (100 dollars), the second will only costs 35 Euros, and 26 if it
is for educational use.
When Aaskash was launched in October, the Minister of Education and Telecommunications said the decision to support this device was unanimous: "The rich have access to the digital world but the poor are the majority here, they have been excluded. Aakash
will end this digital divide."
The forecast is to distribute 10 million of this creation. For now, the sales have a pace of 1,000 devices per day, while the manufacturer is able to build 700 a day.
Obviously at this price, the tablet is not exactly powerful, nor does it fashion the latest operating system from Google. On the contrary, it works with Android is 2.2, designed for phones.
The price has undoubtedly been the best argument for the stock end of this seven-inch tablet. Supporting 256 megs of RAM, two USB ports, wireless internet, video conferencing ability, battery lasting up to three hours, with 32 Gb of memory and expansion
slot for SD cards.
