Mozilla gets moral and financial support from Google, Inc. – Part 2

The main reason why Firefox is becoming one of the best choices in third party web browsing applications like Chrome and Opera, is the massive investment in the software development. In the last three years, the major flow of money has been toward this particular
sector.

Since 2008, the investment on developers has almost increased to double. In 2008, it was $31.3 Million, in 2009 it increased to 40.2 Million and last year it skyrocketed to $62.8 Millions.

Therefore it can be judged how serious Mozilla is taking this business. However, development aside, the company has to think of other ways to keep itself in the business. Google has an enormous capital back-up to support Chrome, Microsoft is operating systems
and whatnots and Apple in businesses, they cannot count themselves.

On the other hand, Mozilla has one browser and no doubt it has taken a big leap in web security and application support but mere browser, that is mostly free of charge cannot support the company, nor can Google, who are paying for mere advertisement and
have their own web browser to look after.

The new browser 9 is a professionally better step in catering to the growing industry, especially the mobile computing that has increased exponentially in the last four years.

The advent of tablet culture has put internet web browsing on the go and 3G and 4G networks are providing the catalyzing support to it. Therefore, it is a great move for Mozilla to invade that territory before others get the time to probe.

In Latin America and Europe Mozilla is already going places and both Firefox and Chrome are taking over the reigning Internet Explorer. Apple’s Safari and Opera’s namesake browser are at the bottom of the list.
