Amazon Kindle Fire or Apple iPad; which is the best and which will remain the best? – Part 1
Saturday, December 24th, 2011 12:37:47 by Usman KhalidAmazon’s Kindle Fire has been on hot streak since the release in October and the major selling point is its price tag. For $199 the owner gets a sharp resolution on a 7-inch colour screen and a well-organized application store that has everything from book
apps to movies.
However, the low price eclipses some of the aspects sported by other tablets in the market. It is not very welcoming to games and has lack gestures in the pool. The screen brightness not the resolution could be brighter and memory is another big issue. For
$199 you get only 8 GB internal storage and there are no extra SD or Micro-SD card slots available.
The tablet’s main purpose, book reading is one of feasible and most organized feature. There is a host of books available for the user but the tablet lacks premium membership deals that are available to desktop users.
However, the price is quite justified in this 7-inch slate and takes the competition with Apple’s iPad and Barnes and Nobles’ Nook Color with both hands.
Nook Color is available within the same price range but due to the organized and powerful back-up by Amazon for Kindle Fire, the Nook has no chance in competing with it. On the other hand, iPad is fully in the ball game and is taking the competition very
seriously.
Rumour has it that Apple might bisect the 2012 release of their flagship tablet. First might come in the first half of next year and the second will probably land somewhere in October quarter.
The first is thought to be a tweaked iPad, younger sibling to iPad 2, maybe called the iPad 2S, as it goes with the iPhone, the genesis of mobile computing.
The most important telltale that has surfaced is that Apple is considering of making a 7-inch version of the iPad because of growing market segment that goes for a cheap and healthy device with a small compromise on the screen.
