Daniel Craig reveals he had to put on weight for his new movie
Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 1:39:51 by Waqas TariqBritish Actor Daniel Craig has revealed that he had to work hard for his new movie ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ so that he could make the character as real as possible. He claimed that he had to follow strict
work-out routines and lift weights to that he could pile on the pounds for the movie.
Craig insisted that he was stick thin after his last movie ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ but admitted that David Fincher, who is the director of the Action flick ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, asked him put on weight as the role demanded
it.
The actor insisted that he had to follow the director’s instructions for the role and wanted the character of his new movie to be as realistic and as close to reality as possible.
“I’d just come off the set of Cowboys & Aliens and I was stick thin, and David wanted me to pile on some pounds. I just wanted to make [the character] as normal as possible. I really like him: he’s idealistic, he believes
in fighting injustice,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The artist, who has starred in two James Bond movies already, stated that his character in the movie is that of a person who wants to solve a mystery but is afraid of some powers that surround him. The actor hinted that a sequel
of the movie could be in the making but it would depend on the success of the movie.
“He’s like a dog with a bone over a mystery he wants to solve, but he runs away when he’s scared. He’s normal, he’s human. We’ll see – we’ll see if this one’s a success first. I’d love to do it if it was,” he concluded.
‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is set to release on Christmas this year and stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Christopher Plummer.
