Since last 15 years, slowly but gradually Imran Khan has risen in stature as a politician and his popularity has increased with every passing day, especially in the educated class of Pakistan.
According a gallop survey in Pakistan in mid-2011, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had the fan following in the illiterate class till primary education, Pakistan Muslim League (N) was the most popular political party in the population of the educational background
of primary till middle, however, from middle to PHD, Imran Khan is by far the most popular political figure in the country.
Some may argue that Imran is popular amongst the educated class because of his cricketing heroics, however the matter of fact is that Khan has gained credibility amongst the masses of the country through the welfare work Imran has done in shape of Shaukat
Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and NAMAL University. Imran has turned out to be amongst the top philanthropists of the country and not even his political rivals can allege him of any financial corruption.
However, the traditional politicians in the country have done their level best to defame the cricketer turned politician and have thrown out a lot of controversies regarding his personal life.
One of the cheapest allegations on Imran Khan by his political rivals is that he is a ‘Jewish Agent’. By saying all this, Imran’s rivals can surely make a fool of the people, who see everything with their prejudiced eyes.
Ironically, Imran’s wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law are all Christians and because Jemima’s grand-father was a Jew, it makes Imran a Jewish agent. Common people, get a life!
While commenting on these conspiracies, Imran said, "They will throw everything at me. Last time around, when they panicked, they called Jemima part of a Jewish lobby. She’s Christian, her mother’s Christian, her father was Christian, but because the grandfather
was Jewish it became part of a Jewish plot to take over Pakistan."
While talking to the reporters, Imran further claimed that people of Pakistan are behind him and his rivals cannot derail him through these cheap acts.
"During a match there comes a time when you know you have the opposition on the mat. It is exactly the feeling now, that I have all the opposition by their balls. Whatever they do now will backfire," the cricketer turned politician added.
The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf has also claimed that he will eradicate the evil of corruption from the country within three months, once he forms a government in Pakistan.
"I promise we will end big corruption in 90 days. I’ve never seen a gathering like this in Karachi in two decades,” he added.
Let us hope for the betterment of the country that Imran Khan lives up to his promises and does not let the nation down for showing faith on him.
