Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 4:59:55 by Usman KhalidThat means almost 18.4 percent of all the transactions were made through mobile devices like the tablets and smartphones. Netbooks and notebooks are not included in this category.
The story does not end at these facts. There has been an enormous shift seen in the increase of online sales and the biggest part in encouraging the e-commerce is the mobile devices.
The online sales grew 16.4 percent more on Christmas to Christmas from 2010 to 2011. Almost 18.3 percent of all the online sessions on online retailers’ websites were made from mobile devices. Last year the figure was a mere 8.4 percent. That means the trend
in make online inquiries from mobile devices grew almost 117.8 percent.
Last year the online transactions made from mobile devices were a mere 5.3 percent of all the sales on Christmas Day. This year the figure grew to 14.4 percent through mobile operating systems like the iOS and Android. This makes the total of 172.9 percent
increase in the trend.
This might be encouraging for online retailers, who have done a good work in presenting the US patronage with attractive sales offers. The increasing trend also tells that the US public’s confidence in making internet based transactions is planting its feet
strongly. Prior to the 2008 recession and major lay-offs during the aching three years in the following kept the online sales on the shorter side of the stick.
