James Franco controversy
A professor at New York University (NYU) has denounced the center for firing after failing in a subject with James Franco in considering that the actor was away for too many classes, reports the New York Post .
José Angel Santana Franco decided to award a grade of "D" (insufficient) when the Hollywood star attended last year only 12 of the 14 classes of the course "Directing Actors II", part of the curriculum of the Master of Fine Arts in was enrolled the star
of films like "27 hours" or "Milk."
The teacher, 58, told the New York newspaper that Franco, 33, reacted to the suspense by putting a fool in public, and then ignored his department for their services, why has filed a lawsuit against the institution before the Supreme Court of Manhattan.
"The school has done everything possible to create an environment favorable to him, that’s for sure. NYU did everything he could to curry favor with James Franco" who has made the university a "possession" to "serve their purpose "Santana told the Post.
The teacher said that the actor acted as a "rebel who was not aware of anything" in other subjects, but teachers still gave good grades because the presence of Franco in the classroom was a major complaint for the center.
According to the text of the complaint quoted by the newspaper, after finishing his master Franco hired one of his professors, Jay Anania, to write and direct the documentary "William Vincent", played by Franco himself and presented in competition at the
2010 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York . In addition, the head of NYU’s graduate film, John Tintori, made a cameo in the same film, which in the opinion of Santana creates a clear conflict of interest, according to demand.
After a stint in college, Franco returned to it last fall as a visiting professor in a course on how to adapt poetry to short films.
