Priyanka Chopra claims her character is the soul of the movie – ‘Agneepath’

The Indian actress and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, believes she is playing the most important role in Karan Johar’s most awaited movie of 2012 ‘Agneepath’, which is the remake of the 1990 Hindi
film of the same name.

In ‘Agneepath’ Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan will be playing a lead role. Roshan, whose name will be Vijay in the movie, will rise and destroy the negative powers of the society (Sunjay Dutt and Rishi
Kapoor) and since the 29-year-old Priyanka, whose name will be Kaali, is playing a lead opposite Hrithik Roshan, she thinks she is the main character in the movie.

Priyanka in the meantime admired Karan Johar a lot for helping her understanding her role in the movie.

“The best thing about Kaali (her character in the film) is that she is Vijay’s strength. She is the soul, happiness and naughtiness in the film… So to prepare, I had to just follow Karan," said Priyanka.

"I was playing a Maharashtrian girl for the second time. When Karan Malhotra and I discussed the film, we were very clear that we have to try to keep this character as different as possible from my character
of Sweety in ‘Kaminey’ because the personalities of both the girls are different.

"Karan was very clear-minded about Kaali’s character. So, it was very easy for me," added Priyanka.

Karan Johar will also be making his debut in the Bollywood industry with ‘Agneepath’, which is due to release in the cinemas on January 26, 2011.

The experts in Indian industry are assuming ‘Agneepath’ will be a big hit. They are expecting the movie to cross the magical INR 100 crore in its opening session.

It is fair to say that ‘Agneepath’ will be a blockbuster movie, as Katrina Kaif’s item number ‘Chikni Chameli’ has already received almost over 3 million views on YouTube. Moreover, the cast in the movie
will force a lot of people to flock to the cinemas.

Nevertheless, it will be a bit early to predict anything about the movie but let’s see if the movie really does a good business.
