The best zombie movies of all time – Part 1
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 3:56:34 by Musa AfridiThe zombie phenomenon has come into the spotlight recently with TV Shows and films exploring the undead more and more, yet only a few have really stood out.
In no particular order, here are a few zombie flicks that no fan of the flesh craving undead should miss out on.
28 Days Later: a few hardcore zombie fans will be screaming at the mention of the 2002 Danny Boyle film in a zombie film chart and for good reason. Zombies are technically defined as dead bodies coming back to life or being reanimated.
In 28 Days Later, however, they are merely the victims of the Rage virus which makes them do what they do. At the same time though, that fact is easy to forget and it follows the same theme as the zombie apocalypse film and maybe even adapts it to the present
day.
With plenty of gore, powerful imagery of the modern world gone to hell and a haunting soundtrack, all brought together with a tight script, the movie is one that will leave almost everyone impressed with the credits roll.
One can expect plenty of action, running, an aura of suspense, panic, fear and a number of adrenaline pumping sequences, yet in the end it is the story and the way the film is shot that will get to them the most.
A brilliant piece of filming with a soundtrack that will stick with anyone who watches the movie, 28 Days Later is a must see film for any movie buff.
The film runs for around 113 minutes, which is just under an hour, yet it will take the viewer on a roller coaster of emotions right from the start and not let go till the very end. It may not be the perfect film, but seeing how the budget for production
was $8-million and it managed to earn ten times that much, shows that did not matter as much.
It must be noted that 28 Days Later does have an R-rating and contains plenty of gore, nudity, and a number of graphic sequences as well as a fair amount of swearing. However, there are no extremely overwhelming scenes and a majority of movie goers should
not have a problem.
