Tips to avoid tensions in triangular relationships
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 6:06:02 by Sharjeel AhmadFriendship is the name of trust and care, be it between two parties or among three persons. But there are some people who play with their fellows’ feelings and use this sacred relation to get their heinous interests. When two persons are in friendship bond,
a third one, usually a friend of one of the two, tries to middle into that relation, and thus a triangle is formed.
In the beginning, this triangle goes well. The trio enjoys a lot as a diversity and a novelty comes in the relation. With the passage of time, the evil sentiments of rivalry and jealously take place. Doubts and mistrusts start prevailing. None of the three
trusts the others. As a result of misunderstandings, quarrels and fights occur, and, the end result is either total break-up of the relation or formation of a new dyad tie again.
This thing happens with almost 95 percent friendship relations which are based on triangle. In order to avoid this type of bad scenes, one will suggest you not to expand your social circle and remain limited to one bosom friend only. But it is not a solution
at all. As a social animal, you cannot do without making relations. Then the question is how to avoid triangle tensions.
I tell you. First of all, identify the reason why misapprehensions take place in a triangular relation. It comes about due to the communication gap among the three parties. You notice your friends’ mistakes, but do not reveal on them due to the fear of break-ups.
You keep rearing hatred and jealously inside you for a long time. In this way, the fog of suspicion gets thickened. And a time comes when you part with one another without uttering a single word. What nonsense!
Secondly, you pose to be possessive for your friend and want to own him/her. You are always averse to share it without someone else. While doing so, you totally forget that your friend is an individual also having his/her own feelings, emotions, thoughts,
likings and desires. He/she is free by birth and has a natural right to lead an independent life without pressures and compulsions. I would like to quote a famous saying here, “You can infringe a person physically, but you can never enchain his thoughts and
emotions”. This is the fact, perhaps the biggest fact that we do not try to understand.
Thirdly, no triangular bond can ever break as long as every one of the three parties is honest and fair with oneself. It is a natural phenomenon that you can never be loyal to others unless you are loyal to yourselves. Unless you are fair, no one can be
doubtful of you.
These are some simple rules to avoid problems in triangular bonds. Keep following them and lead happy and stress-free lives.
