Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol tops the Box Office

The $145 million budgeted movie earned $12.8 million over its opening weekend on its limited IMAX release of just 425 locations in North America. In wide opening weekend, Ghost Protocol grossed $29,500,000 and opened to number
one, while showing in 3,448 theatres. Internationally the movie earned $169,313,497 in almost two weeks of its release.
It tops the box office with earning $9.5 million on Tuesday, 27th December. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows landed on number two after earning $7.3 million and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked fell to number three
and grossed $7 million on Tuesday. Hollywood’s new release, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, fell to number five and bagged only $4.5 million on Tuesday.
Tom Cruise is reprising his role as an IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton will also be featuring in this flick. The movie is directed by Brad Bird and produced by J. J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
The story follows when a terrorist bombing blows Kremlin, official residing place of the president of Russia, while Hunt is on an undercover mission in Moscow. The Russian government announces the attack as an undeclared act of
war, promoting the Unites States to start ghost protocol, a black operation.
Hunt along with his rogue four-man team operates outside from their agency’s command structure due to some circumstances. However, they are forced to operate without any official help after IMF is ambushed few days later. The high
flying team then succeeds in locating an intelligence source connected to the Moscow bombing and the attack on IMF.
The 133 minutes movie received great ratings and favourable reviews from top critics. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gave it a ‘certified fresh’ rating with 93 percent of critics giving a positive review. Metacritic gave the
film a score of 73 out of 100 based on reviews from 38 critics.
Ghost Protocol is a must watch movie for all genre and you’d want to watch it over and over again.
