The aurora of the every new year is greeted a transformed determination and heightened hopes while all the old years are offered with a sense of attainment and a bit of regret.
An average citizen with a secure career and a thin amount in his pocket will react to the beating of the clock on the last of the year. To some extent a resourceful person may invite a few friends for a small gathering to make the day more special.
Over the past ten years or so new year festivities have become worldwide events and a substantial number of Pakistanis together themselves with the celebrations. Conversely, it is a non-event for majority of people out of warm homes and decorated party
halls.
A commoner of the country, squeezed between tug of war between state institutions and absolute rejection of their basic rights by a voracious ruling lot, is left in the wilderness. Such feature in their lives will not make any change in their lives with
the flip of calendar.
People are deprived of electricity, gas and gasoline and what one can hope that these problems will be resolved by next year. News of death and destruction lead in the newspapers and personal lives of commoner are no different from it. There is a rare ray
of inspirational fragment that could perk up trust in life.
As 2011 will become reminiscence in the past, the pile of problems will not disappear. However, the human nature is not made up to quit. A vast majority of people will not ready to cave in to the depressive crunch of life.
People will have to fight desperation by supporting hope and overcome the callous holders of power by combining in the promise to change their lives. However, the good thing about the next year is that it has come at a time when everybody is fed up with
the system and wants a change.
The call for change is like CRY FREEDOM that was the universal slogan used by the colonized people to combat their dominators. Pakistanis, the real one sitting outside the land of the revelry crowd will have to make change their philosophy, their slogan
and their final target for 2012.
The nation can no longer accept a system in which one per cent rules over 99 per cent. The only way to make the next year worthy is to bring a change with positive way.
