Shah is one of the finest film artists in India. So far in his three-and-a-half decade career, he has played so many different characters and proved his worth everywhere.
He is a nice and humble person and therefore, a few Bollywood circles expressed concerns over his avatar of a lecherous South Indian star in the recently-released movie ‘The Dirty Picture’.
Shah, however, is enjoying negative characters, saying that the good guy roles are no more interesting for him.
“I love playing those (negative) characters. I don’t like playing the good guy, it is very boring. My favourite roles are the ones that I did in Mirch Masala and Mohra. These are the characters which are up my ally and I thoroughly enjoyed them,” Naseer
said.
“I had no doubts about the role in ‘The Dirty Picture’ and I knew what I required to do in this role. I suspect that it is the real me,” he added.
After starting his career in 1967, the seasoned actor has given a lot of super duper hit movies. However, his superb acting in the recent movies likes Ishqiya, 7 Khoon Maaf and The Dirty Picture has prompted even his critics to rate his as a legend.
In his upcoming movie ‘Chaalis Chaurasi’, the 61-year-old star is playing a comic role – something he feels has always been overlooked in his career.
Talking about his new flick in which he will be seen doing spoof of ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, he shared, “I think another aspect of acting that I have not touched enough is comedy and I would really like to do more of it in the future. This film had a lot of scope
for that genre. It had that ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ kind of humour. The trailer was a spoof on ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ and it was fun.”
There are many new directors coming up in the Indian cinema and Shah termed it a good thing for Bollywood. On his personal experience of working with young filmmakers, Shah elucidated that it is not something new for him, as he has been working with youngsters
since the early in the movies.
